Consulate General of India in Dubai Hosts Special Screening of 100th Episode of 'Mann Ki Baat'

The Consulate General of India in Dubai hosted a special screening of the hundredth episode of 'Mann Ki Baat' at its auditorium on Sunday, April 30th, 2023. The event was attended by business persons and members of the diaspora community in Dubai who joined hands to celebrate this historical moment.

Dr Puthur Rahman, social worker and author, expressed his joy and appreciation for the hundredth episode of 'Mann Ki Baat', stating that the Prime Minister's direct interaction with the people is h unparalleled anywhere in the world and the hundredth episode is historical. He emphasised the importance of such initiatives in promoting unity and fostering a strong bond between the citizens and the government.

Consul General Dr Aman Puri reminisced about how the UAE was specifically mentioned by the Prime Minister specifically mentioned the UAE, applauding a Dubai martial arts club for creating a Guinness Book of World Records on 'Kalaripayattu'. He further highlighted how 'Mann Ki Baat' has played a pivotal role in bringing the citizens and the head of the government together on a common platform.

The event was not just a celebration of the hundredth episode of 'Mann Ki Baat', but also an occasion to acknowledge and appreciate the Prime Minister's efforts in promoting Indian products in the UAE. In the last week of December 2020, the Prime Minister praised an initiative by food traders in Dubai to promote Geographical Indication (GI) Tagged Kashmiri Saffron in the UAE. Director of Al Maya group, Shri Kamal Vachani, one of the largest outlets importing Kashmiri Saffron in the UAE, thanked the Prime Minister for his support.

The special screening was followed by a Kalari demonstration from the Kalari Club Dubai, with impressive display of martial arts. The Kalari Club Dubai has been instrumental in promoting the ancient Indian martial art form of 'Kalaripayattu' in the UAE and around the world.

The Consulate General of India in Dubai is proud to have hosted this event, which brought together the Indian community in Dubai and strengthening the cultural ties.
