India Korea Business Meet on 29th July, 2021
Korean and Indian entrepreneurs and business leaders based in UAE, deliberated upon ways and means to further enhance mutual cooperation and collaboration, in the run up to Expo 2020 Dubai. This event was organized on 29th July, 2021 at the Indian Consulate. It was jointly organized by the Consulate General of India, Dubai, Consulate General of the Republic of Korea, Dubai along with the Korea International Trade Association. The interactive meet was attended by Indian and Korean business professionals from the sectors of steel, construction, investments, supermarkets, healthcare, logistics, food distributors, personal care and business groups. The Meet was chaired by H.E. Dr. Aman Puri, Consul General of India to Dubai and H.E. Byung Jun Moon, Consul General of Republic of Korea, Dubai.
UAE India Food Security Summit 2020
Consulate General of India, Dubai, in association with Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) and Invest India hosted UAE India Food Security Summit on 8-9 December 2020 to promote collaborations in trade and investment in the food sector. The two day Summit was attended by over 200 importers/exporters, investors and businessmen from the food and allied sectors. The summit chaired by H.E. Pavan Kapoor, Ambassador of India to UAE and H.E. Dr. Aman Puri, Consul General of India to Dubai was also attended by Shri Rana Gurmeet Singh Sodhi, Hon’ble Minister of Sports, Youth Services & NRI Affairs, Government of Punjab, H.E. Dr. Ahmed Al Banna, Ambassador of UAE to India, Shri Navin K. Choudhary, Principal Secretary, Department of Agriculture, Government of Jammu & Kashmir who lead a 22 member business delegation, H.E. UAE-India Healthcare Conference 2020, 19th Oct 2020
UAE-India Healthcare Conference 2020, was organised jointly by Embassy of India, Abu Dhabi and Consulate General of India, Dubai, FICCI and Invest India to explore ways and means for promoting collaboration and partnerships in the fields of healthcare, pharmaceuticals, medical devices and alternative medicines. This conference was a significant platform for deliberations on collaboration and exploring ways and means for the health systems in both countries to engage more deeply. Policy makers, CEOs, eminent leaders from healthcare and allied industries both from the public and private sector from the two nations exchanged ideas on exploring new avenues for partnership as India and UAE work towards delivering accessible, affordable and world class healthcare to their peoples.
The meeting was addressed by H.E. Pavan Kapoor, Ambassador of India to UAE; H.E. Dr. Ahmed Albanna, Ambassador of UAE to India; H.E. Humaid Al Qutami, Director General of Dubai Health Authority; H.E. Tea Board India Virtual B2B Meet, 28 Sep 2020
Consulate General of India, Dubai and Tea Board India jointly organized a virtual B2B Meet to promote Indian tea in UAE on 28th September, 2020.
The virtual B2B meeting was attended by more than 100 participants from India, UAE, Bahrain and Oman including Consul General of India to Dubai Dr. Aman Puri, Mr. P K Sahoo, IOFS, Deputy Chairman & Financial Advisor & Chief Accounts Officer, Tea Board India, Ms. Ebtesam Ahmad Alkaabi, Head of Sales, Jafza, Mr. Azam Monem, Whole time Director, Mcleod Russel India Ltd, Mr. Mohit Agarwal, Director, Asian Tea Exports representing the Merchant Exporters from North India, Mrs. Afroze Randerian, Owner & CEO, G. A. Randerian Pvt. Ltd., Mr. C. Shreedharan, Chairman, UPASI, and CEO of Woodbriar Group representing the Producers’ Exporters from South India, Mr. Deepak Shah, Director, Crystal Tea Ltd representing the Merchant Exporters from South India, Mr. Sanjeev Dutta, Executive Director, DMCC Ltd., Dubai, Mrs. Nandini Datta, Deputy Director Tea Promotion Directorate, Tea Board India and Mr. Joydip Biswas, Deputy Director, Tea Promotion Directorate, Tea Board India. Ms. Ebtesam Ahmad Alkaabi, Head of Sales, Jafza, UAE gave an informative presentation on the facilities offered to tea traders at Jebel Ali Port. The virtual B2B Meet was followed by an open house session where tea traders from both sides interacted with each other and discussed innovative and new ideas to improve trade.
Visit of High Level Indian Delegation led by Smt. Harsimrat Kaur, Hon’ble Minister , MoFPI for participation in Gulf Food 2020
A high level Indian delegation led by Hon’ble Minister for Food Processing Industries, Smt. Harsimrat Kaur Badal, visited Dubai from 16-18 February, 2020 for Gulfood 2020. Hon’ble Minister inaugurated the at Gulfood 2020 on 16 February 2020. India Pavilion was represented at Gulfood 2020 with APEDA (Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority), Tea Board India, Coffee Board India, Coconut Board of India & Cashew export promotion council. Around 300 Indian companies were a part of the India Pavilion.
Hon’ble Minister met with select business organizations in the food processing and retail industry in UAE during her visit. She held one on one meetings with Emaar, Sharaf Group, Essa Al Ghurair Investments, Al Maya Group, Lulu Group, Hakan Agro DMCC, Arab India Spices, Phoenix Group, Al Adil Group, Aujan Group, Amul, IFFCO etc.
Consulate organized a business roundtable on 17th February on opportunities in the food processing sector in India where the Hon'ble Minister, Mrs. Harsimrat Kaur Badal addressed the gathering. More than 50 prominent business groups, traders and investors participated in the roundtable.
Hon’ble Minister also met with the UAE Minister of State for Food Security, Her Excellency Mariam bint Mohammed Saeed Hareb Al Mheiri on 17th February on the sidelines of Gulfood 2020. They discussed UAE investments in food corridors in India in accordance with the vision given by the top leadership of the two countries.
Visit of Hon’ble Minister of Road & Transport & Highways, Govt. of India
Shri Nitin Gadkari, Hon’ble Minister of Road & Transport & Highways, India was on a transit visit on 16th February, 2020. He attended Gulfood 2020 at DWTC during his visit and interacted with the exhibitors at the India Pavilion.
Visit of delegation from Ministry of Civil Aviation, India
In connection with the next edition of Wings India 2020 a delegation led by Mr Pradeep Singh Kharola, Secretary , Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India visited Dubai from 15-17 February, 2020. The Secretary met Mr. Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director General of UAE General Civil Aviation Authority and extended an invitation to him for Wings India 2020. They also discussed ways and means of enhancing the strategic partnership between India and UAE particularly in the aviation sector. The Secretary also held meetings with the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah and senior management of Emirates Airlines and Flydubai.
Visit of IFS Trainees to Dubai
A team of 10 trainee diplomats from India and Bhutan were on a familiarization visit to Dubai on 6–7 February, 2020. The trainee diplomats had a briefing session with the Consul General and all the Consuls. They visited the Federal National Council of UAE and met with Secretary General H.E. DR. Omar Al Nuaimi. The Consulate also facilitated a tour and an interactive session with Jebel Ali Port & Freezone (DP World) for the visiting diplomats on 6th February.
Intersec 2020
India Trade Promotion Organization organized India's participation in Intersec 2020 which was held from January 19 - 21, 2020 at Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre, UAE. India Pavilion was organised with 21 companies from India. Wide range of monitoring systems, surveillance, CCTV, DVR, video management & analytics, access/entrance control, perimeter protection systems, Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), fire safety equipments, environmental protection at work and wearable security/smart clothing etc. were displayed by the participating companies. Consul General inaugurated the India Pavilion on 19th January and interacted with the Indian exhibitors.
Arab Health 2020
EEPC India and Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India (PHARMEXCIL) organized the India Pavilion at Arab Health 2020 from 27th to 30th Jan, 2020 at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, UAE. Over 100 Indian companies from the pharmaceuticals industry, medical devices, healthcare & pharma machinery sector exhibited at the event. Consul General inaugurated the India Pavilion on 27th January.
